SBI Amrit Vrishti FD rates June 2025: State Bank of India (SBI) has cut the interest rates of its special fixed deposit plan "Amrit Vrishti" (Amrit Vrishti FD Scheme). However, the bank has not made any change in the interest rates of its other regular FD schemes. The new rates have come into effect from June 15, 2025. SBI's move comes after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) cut the repo rate by 50 basis points, which was announced in the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting of June 2025.

How much interest will be available now?

According to the SBI website, the interest rates of the Amrit Vrishti FD scheme have been cut by 25 basis points. Earlier, while general citizens used to get interest at the rate of 6.85% per annum, now they will get interest at the rate of 6.60% per annum.

How much interest will senior citizens get?

SBI has also revised the interest rate for senior citizens. Senior citizens (aged 60 years or above) will now get interest at the rate of 7.10% per annum. Super senior citizens (aged 80 years or above) will get the benefit of an additional 10 basis points, which has increased their interest rate to 7.20% per annum.

What is SBI's "Amrit Vrishti" FD scheme?

SBI's "Amrit Vrishti" FD scheme is specifically for 444 days and is a limited-time scheme, which is especially offered on festivals or special occasions.

Why was the interest reduced?

This reduction in interest rates comes after the recent reduction in the repo rate by RBI. The purpose of reducing the repo rate is to make loans cheaper in the economy and boost demand. As soon as the repo rate decreases, banks also change the rates of their lending and deposit products. Major private banks like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Canara Bank have already revised their FD rates.
