How to Stop Bleeding: You are cutting vegetables in the kitchen or suddenly fall while playing with children and start bleeding. It is natural to panic at such times. Many times we are not able to think immediately about what to do and what not to do and in this hurry we make such mistakes that can turn a minor injury into a big problem. Therefore, we will tell you that whenever you or someone else gets hurt and starts bleeding, what should be done first at that moment, which things work and what mistakes which should not be made.

Don't panic

Whether the injury is small or big, the first step is to maintain calm. If you panic, you will not be able to handle the situation properly. It is important to calm yourself or the injured person mentally.

Clean the wound

Wash the bleeding area with clean water so that dirt or dust is removed. If there is soap, you can clean the area around it, but do not apply soap inside the wound, otherwise it can cause irritation.

Apply pressure and stop the bleeding.

Take clean cotton or a clean cloth and place it on the wound and apply light pressure. This helps in stopping the bleeding. Maintain constant pressure for 5 minutes. Removing the cloth repeatedly can increase the bleeding.

Make sure to apply an antiseptic.

After the bleeding stops, apply antiseptic cream or liquid to the wound. This is the most important step to prevent infection. Natural remedies like neem, turmeric or aloe vera can also be effective on minor wounds.

Strip

Apply a clean bandage or gauze to cover the wound, but do not tie it too tight. Tying it too tightly can stop blood flow.

What mistake should not be made?

Many people, after seeing blood, immediately apply things like turmeric, clay or toothpaste, which is absolutely wrong.

When is it necessary to see a doctor?

When the bleeding does not stop even after applying pressure for 15 minutes

If the wound is very deep or requires stitches

got hurt by a rusty sharp object

If the injured person feels dizzy or faints
