A drunk passenger had to be forcibly removed from a flight - but only after the entire was cleared so could get to her. The dramatic incident unfolded on April 14, 2024, on board a flight scheduled to travel from Dallas to Boston.

footage released by police shows the passenger, named Alicia, refusing to leave her seat despite repeated warnings from officers. She told them: "I do not trust this state and I'm trying to go home. So do not hold me here," before pleading: "Give me my one and only warning back."

Cabin crew were left with no choice but to disembark all passengers so officers could remove her without obstruction.

In the footage, frustrated travellers can be seen leaving the aircraft while Alicia remains seated, arms folded. Once officers return, she is handcuffed and dragged off the plane, shouting: "Why would you do that? All I was trying to do is f**king fly home?"

A flight attendant told police that Alicia had consumed a glass of prosecco and two shots of tequila while on board. She later admitted to drinking six glasses of wine in the terminal while waiting for the delayed flight.

The situation continued to escalate once she was off the plane. Outside the gate, officers had to physically carry her through the terminal as she resisted arrest. She also refused to cooperate with a routine check for weapons before being placed in a squad car.

Other passengers booed loudly as she was escorted through the terminal by police.

She was later arrested for criminal trespassing and public intoxication.

The incident has added to Delta's recent run of difficulties. Just days earlier, passengers on a Boeing 717 were forced to evacuate using emergency slides after smoke filled the cabin during a flight from Atlanta to South Carolina. Photos showed travellers standing on the aircraft wing clutching their bags after the emergency landing.

No one was injured in either incident, but both have sparked fresh questions over in-flight alcohol consumption and passenger behaviour.
