Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district administration has declared a holiday for schools and Anganwadi centres in 5 taluks on Monday, June 16, as a precautionary measure in view of the ongoing and expected heavy rainfall.

The order applies to Anganwadi centres, primary and high schools — both government, aided, and private — located in Mangaluru, Bantwal, Ullal, Moodbidri, and Mulki taluks.

Authorities stated that the decision was taken keeping in mind the safety of children, especially since certain areas have reported waterlogging and the possibility of continued heavy showers.

The district administration has advised citizens to remain cautious during the monsoon and has assured that updates will be issued based on further developments.
