star Jo Whiley has four adult children, but she says she's determined they won't profit from her fame or showbiz connections, and that they're "horrified" at the thought of being "nepo babies". She is the proud mum to 33-year-old India, 26-year-old Jude, 24-year-old Cassius and baby of the family Coco, who is just 16.
Her marriage to music executive Steve Morton has stood the test of time, as the pair have been wed happily for nearly 35 years, and she's eager to pass down the same grounded attitude to her children. The presenter scoffed at the thought of them ever becoming "nepo babies" - the term for when offspring of the rich and famous capitalise on their parents' names to progress in their careers, rather than using hard work and talent. She vowed to : "My kids will never be nepo babies.
"They are very determined never ever to make it because I'm their mum. It really horrifies them - the thought that anybody would ever employ them because of what I do."
She continued: "They're so determined to get jobs and do work on their own merits, and they will never take advantage of me at all."
Meanwhile, Jo has a great relationship with all four, including daughter Coco, who's "excited" about seeing one of the huge Oasis comeback shows with her next month.
Coco might not have been born when Mancunian brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher released their first single, 'Supersonic', but she's looking forward to witnessing a part of history when the time comes.
"Coco's so excited about seeing them, and it's kind of given me a renewed love of them too... It'll be very emotional for everybody who goes," she told .
She'd always predicted that Oasis would never get back together, so she playfully joked that she no longer trusts her abilities where predictions are concerned.
Another milestone event this summer will be Jo's 60th birthday - and although her wild nights era might be in the past, she's planning a barn dance celebration.
"We'll have a big old hoedown - cowboy boots, gingham, the lot - or maybe I'll be Calamity Jane. I'm definitely dressing up," she declared.
"We've got the most insane fancy dress emporium above the garage [at home], with many boxes of costumes we've worn over the years. I could open a fancy dress shop!"
