A minor fire broke out in a Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) train en route from Pune to Daund on Monday morning, officials said. The blaze was quickly doused, and no one was injured in the incident, they added.

According to an official from the Daund Railway Police Station, the fire broke out in the lavatory of the moving Daund-Pune shuttle train at 8am, causing panic among passengers.

A 55-year-old person from Madhya Pradesh was detained in connection with the incident for allegedly throwing a 'bidi' into a dustbin of the train after smoking.
