During his visit to Cyprus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented exquisite handcrafted gifts to President Nikos Christodoulides and First Lady Philippa Karsera, signaling a warm gesture of cultural diplomacy. The President received a magnificent Kashmiri silk carpet, a deep red piece adorned with light yellow and red borders. This carpet features intricate floral and geometric patterns, and its unique two-tone weaving technique creates an enchanting optical illusion, making it appear to change colors based on light and viewing angles, giving the impression of two different carpets in one. This masterpiece not only represents the heritage of Kashmiri artisans but also symbolizes timeless Indian craftsmanship.
Prime Minister Modi gifted a stunning silver clutch purse to First Lady Philippa Karsera, crafted in Andhra Pradesh. This clutch, made using ancient repoussé metalworking techniques, showcases ornate floral patterns inspired by temple architecture and royal designs. A semi-precious stone set in the center adds an element of elegance, while its stylish curves, intricate edges, and beautiful handle blend traditional artistry with contemporary flair. Once reserved for festive occasions, such clutches are now celebrated as luxury accessories and collectible art pieces.
