David Hekili Kenui Bell has died at the age of 57, according to a Facebook post shared by his sister, Jalene Kanani Bell. A cause of death was not disclosed.

Bell recently appeared in Disney’s 2025 live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch, playing the “Big Hawaiian Dude” who drops his shaved ice upon witnessing a portal open on the island. On Instagram, he had posted behind-the-scenes images and his original audition tape for the role. He wrote, “Now, Mahalo to all who worked on this film!… Was so awesome to see so many of the true stars in my opinion, our local crew in Hawaii.”

He was a SAG-AFTRA member and had previous acting credits in CBS series including Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I. He portrayed Isaac in Season 5, Episode 4 of Hawaii Five-0 and Manu Saluni in Season 1 of Magnum P.I. His IMDb Pro page listed him as part of the upcoming Amazon MGM Studios film The Wrecking Crew, currently in post-production. The film stars Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa.
