If you are also a content creator or you have a WhatsApp channel on which there are a lot of followers, then there is good news for you. Ever since WhatsApp launched the channel feature, there were speculations that it would be monetized in the future and now the company has confirmed it. WhatsApp's channel can now be monetized and creators can earn from it.

WhatsApp today introduced some new features for its Updates tab, which is the center of channels and status. In the last two years, work has been done to make this tab a means of finding something new on WhatsApp and now 1.5 billion people are using it every day. Now the company is going to make three changes to it. Let us know.

Three big changes are being made.

Channel Subscription: Now users will be able to subscribe by paying a monthly fee to join their favorite channel and get exclusive updates. This is a kind of monetization. This monetization will be different from other social media platforms. You can charge your users for exclusive content. There will be a monthly fee for this, although there is no information at the moment on how much this fee will be.

Promoted Channels: While browsing the directory, users will be shown new and favorite channels. This will be based on the conversation done by the users of the business account. A channel can be promoted according to the location.

Ads in Status: Users will now be able to easily start a conversation with the promotion of a business appearing in the status. These ads will be shown based on the user's location, device language, etc.

These new features will only appear on the Updates tab, which is separate from your personal chats. This means that if you use WhatsApp only to chat with friends and loved ones, there will be no change in your experience.
