Norton has revealed plans to introduce two new motorcycle models this year. Recent updates indicate that the brand may be reviving its classic name, 'Electra', as it has officially trademarked this title. Earlier this month, it was confirmed that both Norton and TVS are collaborating on a new 450CC parallel platform developed in partnership with BMW.
Given the latest developments, it appears that TVS might unveil the new motorcycle under the Norton Electra name. This could mark the beginning of Norton’s journey in the Indian market. In addition to the Electra, Norton has also filed for trademarks on several other names, with 'Norton Commander' being particularly notable due to its historical significance.
Norton is renowned for its distinctive design, and the upcoming models are expected to maintain this aesthetic while incorporating modern features for enhanced usability. The new motorcycle is likely to be a cruiser, equipped with a comfortable suspension system and a robust engine.
With BMW planning to launch a new F450 GS, it is likely that Norton will utilize the same engine. This 47PS liquid-cooled engine, produced by TVS, will enhance the motorcycle's competitiveness, providing riders with an ideal blend of performance and style.
The 450cc Norton is expected to make its debut at this year's EICMA Show, where enthusiasts may get their first look at both the Norton Electra and Commander. Positioned as a premium offering from TVS, the anticipated price for the Norton motorcycles in India is around Rs 5 lakh.
