F1: The Movie is due to land in cinemas in late June, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris alongside a number of other famous faces.

Among the cast is Simone Ashley, famed for playing Kate Sharma in Netflix's Bridgerton, however, it's been revealed that a large number of her scenes have been cut from the film, meaning she now barely features.

Her part in F1: The Movie was confirmed last summer, but she only appears briefly on-screen, with no lines of dialogue and is credited as playing herself.

Joseph Kosinski, director of the upcoming movie, has shared the reason behind Simone's scenes being cut short, while also praising the actress' work.

Speaking to , he explained: "It happens on every film, where you have to shoot more than you can use. There were two or three storylines that ultimately didn't make [it] into the final cut."

He added: "But Simone, she's an incredible talent, incredible actress, incredible singer, and I would love to work with her again."

Simone has publicly discussed her role in F1: The Movie, having earlier this month branded the experience of filming her "very small part" for the movie was "crazy".

She told : "That was crazy. I have a very small part, but I’m grateful to be in that movie. I got to experience many Grands Prix. I don’t think I’ll ever do anything like that again."

F1: The Movie stars Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a former driver who takes on a mentoring role when he returns to the sport. He partners with Joshua 'Noah' Pearce, played by Damson Idris, on APXGP, a fictional team on the grid.

The cast also includes Tobias Menzies, Kerry Condon, Kim Bodnia, Javier Bardem, Shea Whigham, Sarah Niles, Samson Kayo, Abdul Salis, Callie Cooke, Will Merrick and Joseph Badlerrama.

, real-life F1 ace, is credited as a producer on the movie, along with Brad and Jerry Bruckheimer, who worked on Pirates of the Caribbean, among others.

The synopsis reads: "Sonny Hayes, a Formula One driver who raced in the 1990s, has a horrible crash, forcing him to retire from Formula One and start racing in other disciplines.

"A Formula One team owner and friend, Ruben, contacts Hayes and asks him to come out of retirement to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua "Noah" Pearce for the Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP)."

F1: The Movie will be released in cinemas on 25 June.
