Ottawa: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday evening (local time) held a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Canada’s Kananaskis. During the meeting, both leaders share lighter moments. The video of PM Modi’s conversation with Macron is going viral. The two leaders also shared a warm hug as they met, reflecting the close ties between India and France.

In the video, it could be seen that the Prime Minister said something to the French President after which both leaders started laughing. Due to poor audio quality, it was difficult to exactly transcribe what PM Modi had told Macron.

After the video started doing rounds on social media, some social media users claimed that the Prime Minister told Macron, “Nowadays you're fighting on Twitter", while several other users claimed that the Prime Minister said, "Nowadays you're active on Twitter".

Here Is The Video:

When Macron asked PM Modi when he arrived in Canada, PM Modi said that he reached Canada last night from Cyprus.

Netizen’s Reaction:

"Nowadays you're fighting on Twitter" - PM Modi to French President Emmanuel Macron. Hesitation left the chat,” an X user said.

“Macron ke saath-saath Trump ke bhi maze le liye (Along with Macron, also took a dig at Trump),” one of the X users said.

“This is me when i meet my Twitter friends,” another X user wrote.

"Now a days you are active in twitter," an X user stated.

Notably, on Tuesday, President Donald Trump called Macron “publicity seeking” after the French President said that the US President returned to Washington DC for “ceasefire” between Israel and Iran.

“Publicity seeking President Emmanuel Macron, of France, mistakenly said that I left the G7 Summit, in Canada, to go back to DC to work on a 'cease fire' between Israel and Iran," Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

"Wrong! He has no idea why I am now on my way to Washington, but it certainly has nothing to do with a Cease Fire. Much bigger than that. Whether purposely or not, Emmanuel always gets it wrong. Stay Tuned!" the US President further added.

PM Modi-Macron Meeting:

The meeting with Macron was one among several high-level bilateral engagements undertaken by PM Modi at the 51st G7 Summit. Describing the meeting as a pleasure and highlighting the strong India-France partnership, PM Modi, in his X post, wrote, “It's always a delight to interact with my friend, President Emmanuel Macron and exchange perspectives on a wide range of issues. India and France will keep working closely for the betterment of our planet.”

The Prime Minister also met leaders from Mexico, South Korea, Australia, South Africa, France and Canada.
