On International Picnic Day , Sharman Joshi shared that it is a tradition to head out on family picnics regularly, no matter which part of the world he is in. The actor is currently in Toronto, where his daughter, Khyana, studies, and he enjoyed a picnic with his family there earlier this week. He says, “Khyana planned the picnic. She carried her favourite blanket and pillow. We packed cheese, fruits, dark chocolate, different kinds of breads, rolls and wraps. We were at Riverdale, where we enjoyed the sunset. There was music being played by a group of other picnicers, and it was a happy, relaxed time for us.”
About how the tradition started, back home in Mumbai, he shares, “Many years ago, I wanted to plan something different for my wife Prerana’s birthday. I selected Madh Island as the location, decorated my car, packed dinner from her favourite restaurant in my picnic basket, and set up a picnic table with chairs there. Our friends helped light a bonfire and arrange music, after which they left. It was a memorable experience. That’s how the tradition started and has stuck with us.”
