One of the top playback singers in India at present, Arijit Singh, has now ventured into the food business as he has reportedly opened his own restaurant in his hometown Murshidabad, West Bengal. But what really caught people's attention is that reports mentioned how the restaurant offers an entire thali for a meagre Rs 40.

Singh reportedly opened the hotel, named 'Heshel, in Jiaganj, Murshidabad. 'Heshel' means kitchen in Bengali. Reports said that the primary aim of the restaurant is to serve wholesome, homestyle meals to people belonging to every strata of the society, and thus, the prices have been kept as low as possible, without compromising on the quality.

Some reports also suggested that the Rs 40 per meal scheme is only limited to students and not for everyone. The target audience for the restaurant is said to be local students.

Singh has not commented on the reports yet.

The restaurant is run by the singer's father, Gurdayal Singh, and is close to the place where the family lives. The humble eatery has now opened its doors to the people in the area.
