The filming of the comedy movie 'Welcome to the Jungle,' led by Akshay Kumar, has recently been put on hold. While earlier reports suggested financial difficulties as the cause, a leading media outlet has confirmed that the real reason stems from the tragic attack in Pahalgam, where a significant portion of the filming was planned to take place in Kashmir.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, 'Welcome to the Jungle' boasts an impressive cast of 34 actors, including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Sanjay Dutt, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, and many more. The shooting was interrupted last month.
A source revealed, “Approximately 70% of the filming for 'Welcome to the Jungle' has been completed. The remaining 30% was intended to occur in Kashmir, but due to the unfortunate events in Pahalgam, those plans have been postponed.”
According to a report from a popular entertainment site, the cancellation of the shoot was also linked to unpaid dues owed to the cast and crew. The report noted, “The film has been in production for over a year and a half. There are ongoing issues regarding payments to actors and their teams. Some originally cast members have left the project, while others remain committed out of affection for the franchise. They all recognize 'Welcome' as a cherished series and are willing to adjust their schedules to help finish 'Welcome to the Jungle.'”
However, an insider associated with the production dismissed the claims of financial troubles, asserting that a well-organized shooting schedule was in place. The source stated, “The entire filming schedule was confirmed, which included helicopters, over 250 horses with riders, and 1200 junior artists. Everything is proceeding as planned, and all 34 actors are eager to start the final leg of filming after the rains in a new location.”
The release of 'Welcome to the Jungle' was officially announced in 2023 through a video featuring the star-studded cast, who performed a cappella to convey the film's lively atmosphere. Initially set for a Christmas 2025 release, the movie's launch has now been postponed.
