Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The strong personal rapport between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni was on full display at the G7 Summit, where the two leaders shared a warm and widely circulated greeting.

As the host of the summit in Apulia, Italy, PM Meloni personally welcomed PM Modi to the G7 Outreach session. In a gesture of respect, she greeted him with a traditional Indian “Namaste.” Their friendly exchange that followed quickly captured the attention of social media.

In a video of their meeting, Meloni can be heard telling Modi, “You’re the best.” A smiling Modi replies, “I am trying to be as you are,” to which Meloni laughingly insists, “No, you are.”

This interaction continues a trend of positive and friendly chemistry between the two leaders, which has previously spawned the viral social media hashtag “#Melodi.” The term gained massive popularity after the two took a selfie together during the COP28 summit in Dubai, highlighting their easygoing relationship on the global stage.

This was Prime Minister Modi’s first trip abroad after being sworn in for a historic third consecutive term. He was attending the G7 Summit as an invited guest to participate in high-level discussions focused on critical global issues, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), energy, and strategic partnerships concerning Africa and the Mediterranean.

The warm reception underscores the strengthening bilateral ties between India and Italy and showcases the personal diplomacy that plays a crucial role in international relations.
