starlet Myles Lewis-Skelly is reportedly close to signing a lucrative new deal at the Emirates after his superb breakthrough season.

Now that Lewis-Skelly has turned 18, he is able to sign a long-term deal. He previously signed professional terms after becoming 17 in 2023 but could not sign a contract longer than three years at that time, meaning his current deal will end next summer.

The teenager's debut for came during the 2-2 draw against in September and he earned huge plaudits for his solid defensive display despite never previously featuring for the senior side.

Earlier this season, Lewis-Skelly made it clear how much he admires manager Arteta, indicating his happiness at his boyhood club - calling him a "genius".

"His attention to detail is incredible," he told in April. "I love to learn so learning from him and the way he handles and approaches the games, it's fascinating. There's so much I can take from him. He's a genius really."

In turn, Arteta has been complimentary about the teenage talent and insisted his England call-up was a direct result of hard work.

He said in March: "In six-seven months, your career can change dramatically for the good, so it’s something for people to be inspired by. It hasn’t happened because he was lucky. He pushed for every chance to happen."
