New Fastag Rules: The government has finally announced the introduction of the facility of annual pass of Rs 3000 for car owners. Now you will be able to pass through the national highway without paying toll by recharging Rs 3000 in Fastag Pass. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave information about this in X post.
Annual Toll Policy: If you also often travel on the national highway by your car, then this news is useful for you. If your pocket is getting loose by paying toll repeatedly at the toll plaza, then this news will make you happy. Yes, the facility of FASTag based annual pass is being started by the government. Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari gave information about this in X post on Wednesday. He told in his post that the government is starting the facility of FASTag based annual pass of Rs 3,000. This pass will be issued from 15 August and it will be issued only for non-commercial private vehicles.
You will get relief from toll of hundreds of rupees
Gadkari said that this pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or for 200 trips, whichever is earlier. That is, this charge will be Rs 15 for one trip. Currently, you have to pay toll charges ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 200 and Rs 300 at any toll plaza on the National Highway. This 'Annual i' from Gadkari will make travel on National Highways across the country easier and cheaper. He said that a link to activate and renew it will soon be available on the Highway Travel App and the official website of NHAI and MoRTH.
Lakhs of private vehicle owners will benefit
This policy implemented by the government will remove the concerns related to toll plazas within a radius of 60 km. Apart from this, paying toll will become very economical and easy. This will also reduce the waiting time at the toll plaza. This annual pass will provide fast and easy travel options to lakhs of private vehicle owners. Last month, there was a lot of discussion about the fact that the government is working fast on the new toll policy, which will make highway travel easier and more economical for the passengers.
What is the calculation of annual fastag of Rs 15?
According to Gadkari's tweet, after recharging Rs 3000, it will be valid for one year. During this time you will be able to cross the toll plaza a maximum of 200 times. If you complete 200 trips within six months, then you will have to recharge it again. For example, if you are able to do only 50 trips in a year, then also you will have to recharge as soon as the year ends. In this way, you will be able to do 200 trips with Rs 3000, that is, your trip cost will be reduced to Rs 15. Currently this cost is up to Rs 3 per km.
Toll of Rs 295 for less than Rs 100
Cars travelling from Noida to Gajraula via NH-9 have to pay Rs 295 for 95 km. The first toll on this route is at Chhijarsi Plaza, where Rs 175 has to be paid for passing by car. Further, Rs 120 has to be paid at Garhmukteshwar Toll Plaza. That means the total toll for a journey of 95 km is Rs 295. Now after the implementation of the new rule, people travelling in this manner will benefit a lot.
One-time FASTag recharge will be done from Rs 3000
Earlier, there were two types of rumours about the new toll policy. These rumours said that with a one-time FASTag recharge of Rs 3,000 for the Annual Pass, private vehicles will be able to travel on national highways and state highways for a year without any extra toll. Apart from this, there was also a discussion that for those who do not want to select the annual model, a fixed toll of Rs 50 per 100 km can replace the existing toll plaza charge structure. However, an announcement has been made through an exchange regarding the annual pass of Rs 3,000. But it is not clear whether the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways will implement the second option (distance based) or not. The proposal of 'Lifetime FASTag' was earlier canceled by the government. It was being said to be available for Rs 30,000 with a validity of 15 years.
