Bollywood star Kajol is not only busy promoting her upcoming film Maa, set to release on June 27, but is also opening up about her personal life—especially the challenges her daughter Nysa Devgan faces as a star kid in the age of social media.
Protective mom
In a candid interview with Hindustan Times, Kajol addressed the online hate often directed at Nysa. Known for her fearless and outspoken personality, the Maa actress didn’t hold back. “Well, I would say don’t come in front of my car; otherwise, I’ll drive over you,” she said, expressing her fierce protectiveness.
Kajol explained that she often reminds her children that online trolls represent only a tiny fraction of the internet. “It’s just 1% or 0.1% of people who are talking like that. I don’t even know if they’re real,” she added.
Uplifting advice to Nysa
When asked how she helps Nysa cope with the criticism, Kajol offered advice grounded in optimism and perspective.
“You have to concentrate on the good,” she said. “If you have a thousand comments, you will have 999 saying ‘she is amazing’, ‘she is beautiful’. There’s so much love, so many blessings they get. Concentrate on that and don’t think too much about these people.”
Her message serves as a powerful reminder in a time when social media can be both empowering and toxic—especially for celebrity children growing up under intense public scrutiny.

Maa, directed by Vishal Furia , marks Kajol’s first foray into horror. The film also stars Ronit Roy , Indraneil Sengupta , Kherin Sharma, Jitin Gulati , and Surjyasikha Das.
