The family of a 23-year-old student who went missing in a lake in Germany has reached out to Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and Minister Rajesh Dharmani for assistance. They have requested that the officials contact the German government through the Ministry of External Affairs to facilitate the search.
Aryan, who hails from the Kandraur area in Bilaspur district, was pursuing an MBA in Munich, Germany, starting in 2024. His father, Vichitra Singh Chandel, reported that he received news of his son's disappearance around 10 PM on Sunday night.
It was revealed that Aryan had gone swimming in the lake around 1:30 PM that day, and there are fears that he may have drowned. According to acquaintances in Germany, Aryan was a proficient swimmer, but the possibility of an accident cannot be ruled out.
As of now, there has been no recovery of his body or any leads regarding his whereabouts. His parents expressed their deep sorrow, stating that Aryan is their only child.
Chandel mentioned that just four days prior, on Father's Day, Aryan had called him while spending time by the lake with friends. He also reached out to his uncle to convey greetings for the occasion.
