who has lived in the UK since 2008 is afraid he'll be deported after he was sacked for social media posts supporting the far-right activist . Shoaib Sohail said he was told to "delete your X account or your or you will be fired" after higher-ups at Swansea Council spotted posts on the platforms about Robinson, who was released from prison last month. Despite travelling to and working in the UK through legal channels, Mr Sohail said he was afraid of being following his job loss and criticised the local authority for allegedly penalising him for his "political views".

He said his , who co-founded the English Defence League, stemmed from a love of "white British people" who have "shown me so much kindness". Mr Sohail also told GB News that he was frustrated by the difference between his situation and that of illegal asylum seekers crossing the English Channel in small boats.

"I came here legally," he added. "I pay my expensive Home Office and NHS fee and these people just turn up and claim asylum.

"All these illegal immigrants coming here, we don't know where they come from."

The Pakistani native said other members of his community had claimed to have experienced systemic racism in the UK, but it was not something he recognised.

Instead, he testified to "trying to pay back for all the blessings I have received since being in the UK".

It comes after Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer threatened to impose a visa crackdown on citizens of countries refusing to cooperate with Britain's return agreements scheme or adequately tackle the ongoing migrant crisis.

He told reporters at the G7 summit: "It's a serious challenge that requires serious responses to it."

Starmer added that he was considering a "smarter use of our visas" and "whether we should tie our visas to the work that the countries we're dealing with are doing on preventative measures and on return agreements".

Home Office figures show that around 16,545 people have crossed the English Channel in small boats so far this year - marking a 45% increase on the same period in 2024.

Swansea Council has been contacted for comment.
