Bollywood actress Kajol recently opened up about her journey post-motherhood and shared her thoughts on the term ‘comeback’, a question often posed to many actresses in the industry when they take a break after marriage or motherhood.

Kajol about embracing motherhood and Bollywood comeback

In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, Kajol addressed people frequently asking her about making a comeback in the industry. She said, “I’ve had a lot of interviewers sit across from me and say, ‘Oh, so you left work?’ And I’m like, I didn’t leave work, I just did different work. The kind of work changed, but the work itself never stopped. That work continues every single day. I’ve been a mother for 22 years now, and it’s a daily job that I take very, very seriously. And forget just being a mother, I’m a wife, I’m a homemaker.”
Kajol about how much she enjoys her comeback in cinema
She emphasised the deep commitment involved in homemaking, describing it as a creation of oneself, where every small effort contributes to building a home. Kajol noted that this work is demanding and continuous, reinforcing that her responsibilities never ceased during her time away from films.
Kajol also admitted that returning to a film set after taking a break feels like playtime for her. “Even if you’ve taken a five-year break from your professional life, I’d say, do you realise that when I come on set now, I’m having fun? It’s my playtime. And that’s something, God willing – touch wood – I hope to keep doing again and again, for as long as we’re all having fun together. MAA ki kasam.”

Kajol's upcoming movie
Kajol is now gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Maa on June 27.
