NMC may soon start the counseling process for NEET UG 2025. Candidates who are successful in the NEET UG exam will now be admitted to the medical UG course MBBS. The exam was conducted on May 4 in pen-paper mode at various centers across the country and the results were declared on June 14. There are 1,18,190 MBBS seats across the country, which are in multiple states and AIIMS, on which this admission will be done. There are a total of 780 medical colleges in India across the country. These include both government and private. A total of 1,18,190 MBBS seats are available in these colleges. Talking about Bihar, there are a total of 21 medical colleges in Bihar alone, which have a total of 2765 MBBS seats, in which admission will be done through NEET UG score, rank, and counseling. Out of the total MBBS seats in the state, 15 percent of seats will be filled from all quotas and 85 percent from state quota.

There are a total of 13 government medical colleges and 8 private medical colleges in Bihar. There are around 1645 MBBS seats in government medical colleges and about 1360 MBBS seats in private colleges. Patna Medical College, Darbhanga Medical College, Nalanda Medical College, and Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences are the major colleges among government colleges. Patna Medical College has the highest number of 200 MBBS seats.

Bihar MBBS Admission: Up to what rank will admission be given in government colleges?

According to media reports and experts, as per last year's record, this time the cutoff of All India Ranking is likely to go from 4500 to 6500 rank for General Category. At this rank, the candidate will get an MBBS seat in Patna Medical College. At the same time, the cutoff is likely to go from 5500 to 7500 All India Rank to get admission in IGIMS.

NEET UG 2025: How much can the state quota rank go?

Last year, the cutoff rank for Bihar MBBS state quota for the general category was 12327, 17910 for OBC, 23419 for EWS, and 24900 for EBC. This cutoff rank was for NMCH Patna. At the same time, under the state quota rank, the closing state rank of the general category was around 16,238 and number 665. For other backward classes, the number was around 656 and the closing rank was around 21,568. If experts are to be believed, this time, one can get admission to a government college under state quota with more than 520 marks in the fourth round of counseling.
