In the 1st Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, the fans and spectators were treated to a display of sheer class by India's opener KL Rahul.
Following England's decision to bowl first, Indian opening pair KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal stepped onto the field with confidence. They not only weathered the initial spell but also continued to hit the boundary and tick the scoreboard.
But the actual highlight was produced on the very first ball of the 12th over. Chris Woakes served a full ball outside off stump, hoping to lead Rahul into a slip-up. Instead, he managed to provide fans with a moment to cherish.
Rahul crouched forward, did not move his head, and timed the ball perfectly through the covers. It was not a flashy stroke, merely a smooth, clean cover drive that caught everyone's eye. The ball sped to the fence, and even the fielders could do nothing but stand idly by.
The commentators called it a “KL special”, and rightly so. It was the kind of shot you’d want to frame and hang on your wall. No fuss, no power, just pure timing and perfect balance.

Kahul-Jaiswal Dominates First Hour
At the time of writing, the Indian openers, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal have added 57 for the opening stand. The pair has dominated the English bowlers in the first hour of the game at Headingley.
Although, the surface seemed fast bowling friendly ahead of the start of the game, the English bowlers could not find much assistance with the new ball. Instead, the Indian batters have kept on charging on to the rival pacers since the beginning. Both KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal have played some soothing and eye-catching shots all around the park, brushing off all the critics who were in the doubt regarding the Indian batting.
