Martin Kemp has rocked the showbiz world with a bombshell confession about his marriage to Shirlie Holliman - confessing they might not actually be legally married. The Spandau Ballet star, 63, tied the knot with the Pepsi and Shirlie star back in 1988, travelling to St Lucia for a picturesque wedding ceremony.

But in a new Good Morning Britain appearance, Martin confessed to the hosts that the contract may not have been legally binding. He said: "Shirlie and I, we got married in St Lucia on a cliff top overlooking the Caribbean, and it was beautiful.

"But there was one lady there, the ceremony was about as quick as, 'Martin, do you love Shirlie?', 'Yes', 'Shirlie, do you love Martin?', 'Yes', 'You're married'.

"I don't think we've ever got the actual paper to say that we're married, but listen, who needs a piece of paper when you love each other?"

He also told BBC star Vernon Kay of the big day: "I'm waiting for Shirlie, and Shirlie turns up in this old pickup truck coming up the hill, and she climbs out in this tiny white mini dress, with big high heels on, and she's hobbling up to the point where we're going to get married.

"To this day, Vernon, I doubt very much if we are married."

The couple, who have been together for 37 years, share two children - DJ son Roman Kemp and daughter Harley Moon.

After tying the knot - possibly - in St Lucia, the pair returned home to the UK to celebrate with family. Martin told his son Roman on their podcast FFS! My Dad is Martin Kemp: "A friend of mine makes the wedding cake; the wedding cake is this beautiful thing. It's like two tiers, it's white icing, it's got the little classic posts holding up the top tier, got a little man and a bride on the top, like it's meant to be. What they didn't say, was that the whole thing was made out of dope.

"Everyone in the party, off their heads. As soon as we cut into it and smelt it, you could smell it. But there was about 40 people in my house... everybody was off their heads."
