The eleventh International Day of Yoga (IDY) is observed on June 21 of each year. The topic of this year’s 11th International Day of Yoga, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects the crucial reality that individual well-being and global health are inextricably intertwined.
Participating in the 11th International Day of Yoga festivities on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised yoga as a gift “beyond age” that connects people in “health and harmony” and transcends all frontiers.
The Indian Navy ships positioned close to the shoreline enhanced the grandeur of the festivities, which were held against the picturesque background of the Visakhapatnam coastline. He led a public yoga practice in the seaside city with over three lakh people, reaffirming this year’s theme that “yoga belongs to everyone” and unites people from all walks of life.
A United Nations statement claims that yoga promotes a greater feeling of awareness and responsibility in day-to-day living while also strengthening the body and calming the mind. One may select more sustainable and healthful lifestyles because of this attentiveness.
By resolution 69/131 in 2014, the UN proclaimed June 21 to be the International Day of Yoga. A record 175 member nations supported India’s proposed resolution creating the International Day of Yoga. When PM Modi opened the 69th session of the General Assembly, he first presented the idea.
