UPSC Pratibha Portal: Preparing for UPSC IAS, IPS… reached the interview but still did not get selected. Do not be disappointed in such a situation. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has come up with a wonderful job plan for such candidates. The commission has recently started a new initiative called 'Pratibha Setu'. Through this, those talented candidates are to be given a chance who could not make it to the final list of the UP Civil Service Examination (CSE). Through this portal, government and private sector job-providing companies will be able to connect directly with such candidates.

What is 'Pratibha Setu'?

Pratibha Setu was earlier known as the Public Disclosure Scheme (PDS). The 'Pratibha Setu portal gives information about those candidates who were successful in the UPSC exam but could not be included in the final merit list. These are the candidates who have passed all the UPSC examinations including the interview, but missed the selection in the final list. According to UPSC officials, this new system helps employers reach candidates who are almost as talented as the selected candidates. This gives these candidates a chance to succeed in other fields besides government jobs.

How will the Pratibha Setu portal work?

UPSC will provide login IDs to registered organizations. With this, they can see the details of eligible candidates for the upcoming vacancies. Apart from government companies, private companies can also get this information by signing up through the UPSC portal. The data will contain the educational qualifications and contact details of each candidate. So that employers can contact the candidates. According to the commission, there are more than 10,000 such candidates in the database who cleared all the examination stages but could not make it to the final selection.

The Public Disclosure Scheme was first used in 2018. It started with the candidates of the Combined Medical Services Examination 2017. The updated and renamed 'Pratibha Setu' portal aims to improve employment opportunities for UPSC candidates. Also, it provides organizations an opportunity to access some of the best talent in India. This initiative is a ray of hope for those youth who dream of becoming officers but due to some reason are unable to make it to the final list.
