Jasprit Bumrah spun out an act of sheer magic on Day 2 of the opening Test between India and England at Headingley, spinning an unplayable ball to get Zak Crawley out. It was a ball that could only be called extraordinary angling towards middle and leg, hitting the deck hard, and then sharply straightening to leave Crawley totally bewildered.
The English opener was left stranded in his crease, hoping to clip it to leg side, but the ball kissed his outside edge, hit the back thigh, and went straight to first slip, where Karun Nair made a quick catch. Crawley could do no more than hang his head in dismay there was just nothing he could've done. With this early triumph, Bumrah once again showed the world why he is among the most deadly red-ball bowlers in contemporary cricket.
