The Royal Family has rushed to wish Prince William a very happy birthday as an adorable new picture of the royal is released. The royal, who was born on this day in 1982, is celebrating his 43rd birthday today.

William, who is next in line to the throne, has been sent public birthday wishes from King Charles and his wife and his children earlier today. Taking to social media, the King shared a new picture of the future monarch to the @theroyalfamily's Instagram story. His post read: ""Happy Birthday to the Prince of Wales [red-balloon emoji] [party-popper emoji]."

Alongside an adorable new picture of William with his family's beloved dog Orla and her new puppies, Kensington Palace shared a birthday message from the Princess of Wales and their children - Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.

The message read: '"Happy birthday! Love C, G, C, L, Orla and the puppies! [dog-paw emoji]."
