While Team India is currently engaged in a thrilling Test series against England, former Test captain Rohit Sharma has captured fans’ attention for a different reason.

The Hitman recently appeared on Harbhajan Singh and Geeta Basra’s talk show along with his wife Ritika Sajdeh, where he shared the heartfelt details of their love story — from their first meeting to the moment he proposed.

How Rohit Proposed to Ritika

Rohit described the proposal as something straight out of a movie. He said, “I took Ritika to the ground where my cricket journey began. She brought food for me, we had lunch together, and then I told her we’d go for ice cream. We drove around Marine Drive, Dadar, Bandra, and Worli. When she asked where the ice cream was, I said there’s a great vendor in Borivali, where I used to live.”

Eventually, they reached the ground — but something special was planned.

Rohit recalled, “It was dark at the ground, but I had already arranged everything with my friends. I signaled them to start recording. I drove the car into the middle of the ground, got down on one knee on the pitch, and proposed to her.”

Rohit and Ritika first met in 2008. Though their bond started as a professional association, over time, it evolved.

Rohit revealed that it was in 2013 when he first realized it wasn’t just friendship anymore. “She used to bring me home-cooked meals because I wasn’t fond of hotel food. In 2013, we both understood that there was something deeper between us. Even our friends had begun to sense it before we did,” he said with a smile.
