Main Benefits of UPS

  • Fixed Monthly Pension: You will get 50 percent of the average basic salary of your last 12 months before retirement, as monthly pension — but only if you have completed 25 years of qualifying service.

  • Minimum Pension: If you retire after completing at least 10 years of service, you will get a minimum pension of Rs 10,000 every month.

  • Family Pension: If the retired employee dies, the spouse will receive 60 percent of the pension amount.

  • Dearness Relief (DR): Like Dearness Allowance (DA) for working employees, pensioners under UPS will also get DR on their pension.

  • Lump Sum Benefit: At retirement, for every 6 months of qualifying service, 10 percent of the basic salary will be given as a lump sum amount.
