23 June 2025: Monsoon has now spread to most parts of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rains are expected in many states between June 22 and 28. Heavy to very heavy rains are expected especially in North-West India, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa from June 22 to 26. Extremely heavy rains are expected in Gujarat on June 22 and in Madhya Pradesh on June 23-24. Heavy rains will continue in Northeast India for the next 3 days, after which there may be heavy rains at some places for 4 days. In such a situation, people of these areas should be cautious.
The southwest monsoon has reached Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Kashmir, Jammu and parts of Punjab. The monsoon is moving northwards through Jaipur, Agra, Rampur, Dehradun, Shimla, Pathankot, Jammu. In the next two days, the monsoon will advance to other parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu. Also, the low pressure area over south-east Uttar Pradesh is likely to gradually weaken.
Many areas of West Madhya Pradesh may receive more than 20 cm of rain on June 23 and 24. Apart from this, heavy to very heavy rains will continue at many places in Madhya Pradesh during June 22 to 26.
Heavy to very heavy rains are expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur for the next several days. These areas will experience heavy rains accompanied by thunderstorms during June 22-24. This situation is expected to persist for the next 7 days.
Extremely heavy rains are expected in many areas of Gujarat on June 22. Heavy to very heavy rains may occur in many parts of Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Gujarat between June 22 and 28.
Extremely heavy rain is expected in East Rajasthan on 23rd June. Heavy rains may occur at many places in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana from 22nd to 26th June. There is a possibility of rain with strong winds in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan between 22nd and 28th June. Apart from this, heavy rains may also occur in Jammu and Kashmir on 25th June.
Heavy rains are expected in Kerala, coastal Karnataka, interior Karnataka and coastal Andhra Pradesh from 22 to 28 June. Also, strong surface winds will blow in Telangana and Yanam. During this time, rains accompanied by thunderstorms may occur in these states.
