Actor Darsheel Safary recently reflected on his camaraderie with actor-producer Aamir Khan. He mentioned feeling "too shy" to approach his 'Taare Zameen Par' (2007) director for work.

Safary, in a recent interview with Mid-Day, emphasised that whatever work he was able to do post the Covid-19 pandemic was "through zero contacts." He said, "Whatever work I've done after the pandemic has been through zero contacts. Auditions and screen tests allow me to understand whether I'm able to do [a role] and also help producers and directors understand if I fit it."

The actor further stated that he prefers to have a cordial relationship with Khan, instead of asking for scripts.

"People get upset that I don't ask Aamir for work. But I feel too shy to do that. He is not my brother, so I can call him and say, 'Please get me a script.' My chosen path has been to (only) send him best wishes, like a text on his birthday. It's just how I preferred it," he added.

Safary's Bollywood debut as a child artist in 'Taare Zameen Par' earned him praise for his acting prowess. He portrayed a child who was struggling with dyslexia while his guardians and mentors were unable to understand his condition.

The movie also marked Khan's directorial debut apart from him producing the film. The musical-drama also featured Tisca Chopra, Vipin Sharma and others in pivotal characters.

Safary was recently seen at the screening of Khan's sports-drama 'Sitaare Zameen Par' (2025). Khan essays the role of a basketball coach to a , in the film. Genelia Deshmukh stars opposite him in the movie.

The film also marks the acting debut of Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar.

'Sitaare Zameen Par' is directed by RS Prasanna and is backed by Aamir Khan Productions. It is a remake of the Spanish film 'Campeones' (2018).
