Rajasthan Government Implements Significant Changes in Bureaucracy

In a significant move, the Rajasthan government has executed a major reshuffle within its bureaucracy, transferring 62 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers. The personnel department released the transfer list late Sunday night, which includes the reassignment of eight additional chief secretaries and 11 district collectors. Furthermore, 21 IAS officers have been given additional responsibilities across various departments.

Senior IAS officer Akhil Arora has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary in the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), marking his transfer from the finance department after nearly five years. Aparna Arora has been moved from the Forest Department to serve as Additional Chief Secretary in the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.

New Appointments and Transfers

According to the official order, Shweta Chauhan has been appointed as the new District Collector of Phalodi, previously serving as the Director of the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban). Harjeelal Atal, the former collector of Phalodi, has been designated as the CEO of the State Health Insurance Agency. Additionally, Dr. Dheeraj Kumar Singh, the CEO of the Jodhpur District Council, has been appointed as the Joint Secretary in the personnel department. Ashish Kumar Mishra, who was awaiting posting, will now take over as the new CEO of the Jodhpur District Council.

Bal Mukund Asawa, the collector of Rajsamand, has been transferred to Jaipur as Joint Secretary in the Public Works Department, with Arun Kumar Hasiya appointed as the new collector of Rajsamand. Hasiya previously held the positions of CEO of Jaipur Smart City and Commissioner of Jaipur Municipal Corporation.

Removal of Jhunjhunu Collector

In a related development, Jhunjhunu Collector Ramavatar Meena has been removed from his position and appointed as Director following a departmental inquiry. This decision came after Chief Secretary Sudhanshu Pant expressed dissatisfaction with Meena's responses during a review meeting in Sikar back in May.

Currently, no replacement has been announced for the Jhunjhunu Collector position, and the district's Superintendent of Police position is also vacant, leaving both top administrative and police roles unfilled.

New District Collectors Appointed

The reshuffle includes the appointment of new district collectors and magistrates in several districts:

Kanar Ram – Collector, Sawai Madhopur

Kalpana Agarwal – Collector, Tonk

Kamar Ul Zaman Chaudhary – Collector, Bharatpur

Piyush Samaria – Collector, Kota

Priyanka Goswami – Collector, Kotputli-Bahrod

Arun Kumar Hasiya – Collector, Rajsamand

Kamal Ram Meena – Collector, Beawar

Shweta Chauhan – Collector, Phalodi

Mahendra Khadgawat – Collector, Didwana-Kuchaman.

Vishram Meena, who was serving as the Secretary of the Sanskrit Education Department in Jaipur, has been appointed as the new Divisional Commissioner of Bikaner.

Other Senior Appointments

In other changes, Ashish Modi, the Director of Secondary Education, has been sent to the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment as Joint Secretary. The responsibilities of the Director of Secondary Education have now been handed over to Sitaram Jat, who is currently serving as the Director of Primary Education.
