SBI Card: This change will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, from July 15, 2025, this facility will be discontinued on SBI-branded cards (such as SBI Card ELITE and SBI Card PRIME). In the second phase, from August 11, 2025, this benefit will be removed from many co-branded cards (which have been issued in collaboration with public and private banks).

SBI Card: If you are a credit card user of SBI, then this news is important for you. SBI Card has decided to discontinue the free air accident insurance benefit available on many of its credit cards. Earlier under this facility, cardholders used to get a cover of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore. But now this facility is being phased out.

When will the change be implemented?

This change will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, this facility will be discontinued on SBI branded cards (such as SBI Card ELITE and SBI Card PRIME) from July 15, 2025. And in the second phase, this benefit will be removed from many co-branded cards (which have been issued in collaboration with public and private banks) from August 11, 2025.

SBI Card ELITE — ₹1 crore cover discontinued
SBI Card Miles ELITE — ₹1 crore cover discontinued
SBI Card Miles PRIME — ₹1 crore cover discontinued
SBI Card PRIME — ₹50 lakh cover discontinued
SBI Card Pulse — ₹50 lakh cover discontinued

Co-branded cards (from 11 August 2025): ₹1 crore cover discontinued

  • Punjab & Sind Bank SBI Card ELITE
  • Karur Vysya Bank SBI Card ELITE
  • Karur Vysya Bank SBI Signature Credit Card
