Air India on Sunday, June 22, 2025, announced changes in the flights of its narrowbody aircraft. The Tata Group-owned airline has decided to cut services on 21 routes by less than 5%. In this, flights will be completely stopped on three routes, while the number of flights on 19 routes will be reduced. These changes will be effective till July 15, 2025. The company says that this step has been taken to make their network more stable and avoid inconvenience to passengers.

Why was this decision taken?

Air India had earlier also temporarily cut its widebody international flights. Now this change in the narrowbody network is part of the same strategy. The company aims to increase the operational stability of its entire network so that passengers can be saved from last-minute troubles. Air India clarified that despite this reduction, it will operate around 600 flights daily with its narrowbody aircraft, covering 120 domestic and short-haul international routes.

This decision of Air India will affect 21 routes. Flights on three routes are being completely discontinued, while the frequency of flights on 19 routes will be reduced. Below is the complete list of affected routes.

Air India flights on the following three routes will be temporarily suspended till July 15, 2025

Bengaluru-Singapore (AI2392/2393): 7 flights a week, now discontinued.

Pune-Singapore (AI2111/2110): 7 flights a week, now discontinued.

Mumbai-Bagdogra (AI551/552): 7 flights a week, now discontinued.

Reduction in the number of flights
The frequency of flights has been reduced on 19 routes. These include flights between several major cities.

Bengaluru-Chandigarh: Reduced from 14 to 7 weekly flights.

Delhi-Bengaluru: Reduced from 116 to 113 weekly flights.
Delhi-Mumbai: Reduced from 176 to 165 weekly flights.

Delhi-Coimbatore: Reduced from 13 to 12 weekly flights.

Delhi-Goa (Dabolim): Reduced from 14 to 7 weekly flights.

Delhi-Goa (Mopa): Reduced from 14 to 7 weekly flights.

Delhi-Hyderabad: Reduced from 84 to 76 weekly flights.

Delhi-Indore: Reduced from 21 to 14 weekly flights.

Delhi-Lucknow: Reduced from 28 to 21 weekly flights.

Delhi-Pune: Reduced from 59 to 54 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Ahmedabad: Reduced from 41 to 37 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Bengaluru: Reduced from 91 to 84 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Kolkata: Reduced from 42 to 30 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Coimbatore: Reduced from 21 to 16 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Kochi: Reduced from 40 to 34 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Goa (Dabolim): Reduced from 34 to 29 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Hyderabad: Reduced from 63 to 59 weekly flights.

Mumbai-Varanasi: Reduced from 12 to 7 weekly flights.

Delhi-Kolkata: Reduced from 70 to 63 weekly flights.

The company said that the new schedule is gradually becoming available through their website airindia.com, mobile app, and contact center. The affected passengers will be informed as soon as possible.

Air India apologized to the passengers.
