According to the information provided by NMC, a total of 718 medical colleges are being operated inside the country in the year 2025. All these medical colleges are run by the government, private, and trusts.

At the same time, the highest number of medical colleges in the country is 86 in UP, which are government, private, and trust medical colleges. After this, 80 are running in Maharashtra, 77 in Tamil Nadu, 73 in Karnataka, 65 in Telangana, 43 in Rajasthan, 41 in Gujarat, and 38-38 medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal. How many total MBBS seats, and which state has the most

According to the information provided by NMC, in the year 2025, there are a total of 1,18,190 seats in all 718 medical colleges in the country. Of these, Karnataka has the highest number of MBBS seats (12545), UP has 12475, Tamil Nadu has 12050, Maharashtra has 11846, Telangana has 9040, Gujarat has 7250, Andhra Pradesh has 6785 and Rajasthan has 6475 MBBS seats. 20 students apply for 1 MBBS seat

If we understand the mathematics of NEET candidates and total MBBS seats in the country, this time 20 students had applied for one MBBS seat. Actually, about 22 lakh students had registered for NEET UG 2025. Out of this, 20.80 lakh students appeared in NEET UG 2025 and 12,36,531 students passed NEET UG. So this time there are 1.18 lakh MBBS seats.
