RPSC School Lecturer Exam: The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) started carrying out the School Lecturer (Post Graduate Teacher) exam from June 23, 2025, with the scheduled run until July 4. The first day, however, was severely disrupted, especially in Jhunjhunu and neighboring districts, by continuous rainfall.

Heavy rains led to widespread waterlogging and traffic jams, rendering it extremely difficult for numerous candidates to arrive at their centres on time. Several roads were flooded, leaving vehicles stranded and delaying hundreds of aspirants.

According to RPSC's stringent guidelines, the gates of examination centers were shut at the time scheduled, with no provision for late entry. This resulted in scenes of unrest at various locations, where aspirants could be seen running to beat the deadline. Most of those arriving even minutes after the scheduled time were refused entry, leading to tearful outbursts and arguments with staff and security officials.

As per media reports, at Government RR Morarka College and similar major centres, candidates who arrived after 9 AM were left clamouring at the gates. Some stood drenched in the rain, begging for entry; others, overwhelmed by the situation, were seen crying or arguing with police officials.

The turnout was also highly influenced by the weather. Of the 15,310 candidates expected to appear across 40 centres in the first shift, only 10,761 made it. This left them with a mere attendance rate of 70.287%, leaving behind 4,549 candidates marked absent, according to the media reports.

The total examination is being conducted for 2,202 lecturer and coach posts, on which approximately 6 lakh candidates have applied. In order to handle the huge number, RPSC has split the exam into four groups.

Two papers were conducted on the first day: General Awareness and General Studies (GK) from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM and the Hindi General paper from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
