When one envisions a beggar, thoughts of affluence and luxury are typically absent. However, Bharat Jain from Mumbai defies these conventional notions.
Often referred to as the richest beggar globally, Jain possesses assets valued at Rs 7.5 crore, which includes two apartments in Mumbai and two commercial spaces in Thane, generating a monthly rental income of Rs 30,000.
In spite of his wealth, he continues to solicit alms at prominent locations such as CSMT and Azad Maidan, where he reportedly earns between Rs 60,000 and Rs 75,000 each month—surpassing the earnings of many professionals in India.
Jain's journey is remarkable; he never had the opportunity for formal education due to financial constraints. Nevertheless, he transformed his life, got married, and raised two sons who are now well-educated. He also manages a small stationery business alongside his family.
Although his family wishes he would cease begging, Bharat remains committed to his routine, demonstrating that life can lead to unexpected successes.
