Emergency services rushed to the scene this morning after receiving reports of the blaze. Thick grey smoke could be seen covering a large part of the area.

Further footage showed onlookers watch in horror as firefighters flooded the scene shortly after 10am. Eyewitnesses took to social media to urge people to stay away from the area as they recalled a huge police presence.

Another person said: "Vehicle on fire outside Kings Cross London. Suggest avoiding." London North Eastern Railway confirmed that one entrance to the station has been closed in response to the incident.

They said: "Due to reports of a fire on the road between London Kings Cross and London St Pancras, the West entrance to Kings Cross Station has been temporarily closed.

"Alternative access points are available. We apologise for any inconvenience caused to your journey." Pancras Road has since been shut off, which has sparked further travel disruption. It has been reported that bus routes, 46, and 214, are on diversion.

The London Fire Brigade told the Standard: “We're currently attending a van fire near St Pancras Train Station. The Brigade was called at 1017 and two fire engines are at the scene. Road closures are in place and people are advised to avoid the area at this time.”
