Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh, 1st Test Preview

The last and final Test match of the series between hosts Sri Lanka (SL) and Bangladesh (BAN) is set to take place from June 25 to June 29 at the Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground in Colombo. This is a make-or-break game for both teams, who have a chance to win the series.

The first Test at the Galle International Stadium was a high-scoring game, which ended in a draw, with three batters scoring big hundreds. The hosts, led by Dhananjaya de Silva, will be looking to make a comeback after a slightly underwhelming performance in the previous game. While some of the Sri Lankan batters scored impressive runs, the bowlers struggled to make breakthroughs throughout the match.

The Bangladesh team, on the other hand, will be happy with their performance in the first Test, with top batters Liton Das, Shanto, and Mushfiqur Rahim scoring centuries and putting the Lankan bowlers on the back foot straight away. The ‘Tigers’ might not have ended up as winners, but there are plenty of positives they can take from the previous game.

Sinhalese Sports Club Cricket Ground Pitch Report

While the surface in Galle has been known to be a nightmare for batters, the story at Colombo's SSC ground is quite the opposite. Though the pacers get good bounce and carry off the wicket, batters have generally enjoyed scoring runs at this venue. There is a chance that fans might get to witness another high-scoring game, with both teams fighting it out with the series on the line.
