If you had a chance to win a quarter million dollars, how would you react? A man named Majd was put to the ultimate test by YouTuber MrBeast : he had to lose 100 pounds and spend a year at the gym. The outcome was one of the most heartbreaking, strong, and transformative stories on the channel.
According to The Guardian, Majd was offered $250,000 by Mr. Beast in exchange for losing 100 pounds and spending a year living in a gym. Majd changed his life and inspired millions of people while losing more weight than was necessary and adding bonuses to his prize.
What were Mr. Beast's challenge rules?American YouTuber James Stephen Donaldson, popularly known around the world as MrBeast , became well-known on his channel by hosting a variety of challenging and charitable events.
The 27-year-old is the owner of the most popular channel on the video-sharing app, with an incredible 408M subscribers. According to the Times of India, the YouTuber recently shared a video of his new friend Majd, to whom he posed an interesting challenge.
Majd began weighing 324 pounds and had to lose 100 pounds in a year to reach 224 pounds, but if he left the area, the challenge would be over. Additionally, a dedicated camera room would continuously monitor his progress to ensure he followed the challenge.
In the video that was uploaded to his YouTube channel, MrBeast asserted that he was unaware that the challenge would turn into "one of the most powerful stories we have ever shared on our channel."
Majd, who had never performed a squat, lost weight with the help of fitness coach Tyler Wall. He worked out five days a week, walked 18,000 steps a day, and consumed 2,500 calories. In a single month, he went from 324 to 303.5 pounds, a 20-pound drop.
The YouTuber offered a fresh challenge to add more value to the $250,000. By the end of the second month, Majd had accomplished 31 push-ups and shed 286 pounds, adding $31,000 to his prize fund.
How did Majd deal with the tragedy? On the eighty-fifth day of his weight loss challenge, Majd received the news that his coach, Tyler Wall, had died. After declining coaching from another coach, he continued to travel alone. By the third month, Majd had shed 271 pounds and completed tasks like carrying bags of cash and running a lap around the area.
His prize fund rose to $321,000, an increase of $40,000. For his fourth challenge, he had to run a mile in 8 minutes and 30 seconds, increasing his prize money by $25,000.
The next challenge was to hang dead on a bar, and MrBeast increased his prize by $1,000 for every second he stayed. After a month of training, he was able to hang for 60 seconds, earning an extra $60,000, thanks to the help of fitness influencer Jeff Nippard. Nippard offered Majd an extra $10,000 if he could pull a chest pull-up, increasing his prize money to $71,000.
What was the outcome in the end?By day 178, Majd's weight had decreased beyond what was required for the challenge, and he had a beard makeover and met the well-known David Letterman, which altered his self-perception. The man had free access to healthy food, a basketball court, and an athletic training facility in addition to state-of-the-art equipment.
His weight loss journey is remarkable because he wants to win prizes and works hard to get healthier.
