Filipino actor Alden Richards has publicly criticized Cathay Pacific after claiming the Hong Kong-based airline mishandled his bike, resulting in a fractured frame.

According to Filipino news outlet InquirerRichards took to his social media platforms, including Instagram, X, and Facebook, on June 22 to express his dissatisfaction. He shared photos of his broken bike frame and accused the airline of mishandling his bike and other equipment during transit.
“Shoutout to Cathay Pacific for fracturing my bike frame and unloading my bike box and bike rack on my way home to the Philippines,” he captioned his post, which included a picture of the damaged frame. “Please do something about this.”
The following day, Cathay Pacific responded to Richards’ post on X, saying: “Thank you for contacting us, Mr. Richards. We are really sorry to hear about what has happened and appreciate you bringing it to our attention.”
However, the airline has not provided any further updates or responses since.

Richards’ accusations came just days after Cathay Pacific was ranked the world’s third-best airline by Skytrax.
At 33, Richards is known for his leading roles in Filipino romantic and historical dramas across both television and film. His accolades include five PMPC Star Awards for Movies, five GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Awards, and four PMPC Star Awards for Television.
