Nadia Sawalha is best known for her regular appearances on the ITV daytime talk show Loose Women, where she joins a panel with her star-studded co-hosts. Away from the screens, the actress is also active on social media, providing daily updates and insights into her personal life and adventures.
In a recent Instagram post, the 60-year-old opened up about her trip to the Cotswolds, which took an unexpectedly dangerous turn. Despite the Gloucestershire town being renowned for its charming countryside landscape, Nadia captioned her post: "The Cotswolds are terrifying, take me back to South London. In the uploaded video, the TV star looked disturbed as she walked through the town with her husband, Mark Adderley, accompanied by the sounds of nearby gunshots.
Addressing her followers, Nadia shared: "I live in south London and the Cotswolds is way more scarier than south London."
Before she could finish her sentence, the former EastEnders star was interrupted and silenced by gunshots and then went on to share more about her discomfort.
Nadia remarked: "All I can hear is b****y gun shots and weird crop circle water things. Things running around in the trees. Jesus Christ, I mean I'm born and bred Brixton," but was once again stopped by the loud bullets.
After looking around, wary of where the shots were coming from, she continued: "And then spent most of my adult life in Croydon and this is way scarier."
Speaking to her husband, Nadia chuckled: "Mark, we need to just get back to somewhere, I don't like it."
Among the list of activities to enjoy in the Cotswolds, clay pigeon and air rifle shooting are hugely popular with locals and visitors, as several different places offer the activity.
According to the British Association for Shooting and Conservation (BASC): "Shooting near or over public rights of way requires careful consideration and adherence to safety guidelines. Discretion is advised, and users of public rights of way have the right to pass and repass."
Taking to the comments, many fans were amused by her reaction, including one who wrote: "Why am I laughing so much at this. I'm such a country girl if I was in the city and heard gunshots, I'd genuinely think they were just scaring the birds or on a hunt for pheasant, rabbit or deer."
Another penned: "I love you, but this is just a pheasant/game bird shoot. Field to fork, as it should be," While a third admitted: "The gun shot sound effects nearly sent me flying off the sofa."
