Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection: Aamir Khan’s long-awaited comeback film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is steadily making its presence felt at the box office. After a three-year hiatus, the actor returned with a sports dramedy directed by RS Prasanna, and as it completes nearly a week in theatres, the film has crossed the ₹80 crore milestone in India.

According to early estimates reported by Sacnilk, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' raked in ₹7.25 crore on its sixth day, taking its total domestic earnings to ₹82.4 crore. While the movie got off to a solid start with an opening day collection of ₹10.7 crore, its box office numbers saw a jump over the weekend, pulling in ₹20.2 crore on Saturday and ₹27.25 crore on Sunday. However, weekday footfalls have tapered off, with the film now struggling to sustain double-digit daily earnings.

About Sitaare Zameen Par

'Sitaare Zameen Par' is being referred to as a spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par'. While the earlier film focused on a child with dyslexia, this time Aamir portrays a basketball coach who, after being convicted of drunk driving, is assigned to train a team of neurodivergent individuals.

Special screening at Rashtrapati Bhavan

Adding to its growing list of accolades, the film recently had a special screening at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Pictures from the event were shared online, showing President Droupadi Murmu in attendance.

The caption from the film’s team read, “The Hon’ble President of India watched Sitaare Zameen Par at Rashtrapati Bhavan, and we are deeply grateful for the warmth and generosity extended by her, her family, and her staff. Everyone involved with the film was welcomed and cared for with such genuine kindness and affection.”
