Palghar, Maharashtra: In a significant move aimed at aiding students from backward communities, the District Caste Certificate Verification Committee in Palghar has announced a special drive to help Class 11 and 12 science stream students obtain caste validity certificates. The campaign is being organized under the guidance of the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Pune, as part of the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Jayanti Festival, and will run from June 26 to July 4, 2025.

This targeted initiative is designed to assist students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Vimukta Jatis (VJ), Nomadic Tribes (NT), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and Special Backward Classes (SBC) who have applied for admission under reserved categories but are yet to receive their caste validity certificates.

Focus on Error Correction

The campaign will also incorporate a Special Error Rectification Drive. This is specifically for students of Class 11 and 12 (Science stream), CET aspirants, and final-year diploma students who have already submitted their caste certificate applications but have received error notices via email.

These students are required to appear in person at the District Caste Certificate Verification Committee office in Palghar with their original school documents, caste-related documents proving lineage on the father’s side predating the government’s cut-off date, and other relationship verification documents along with attested photocopies.

The committee has emphasised that discrepancies must be addressed promptly, as unresolved issues will delay certificate issuance and the responsibility for such delays will rest solely with the applicant. The campaign is intended to streamline the verification process and ensure timely access to caste validity certificates, which are crucial for reserved category admissions.

Committee Chairperson and Deputy Commissioner Ramdas Khedkar, Member Salima Tadvi, and Member Secretary and Research Officer Pandurang Wabale have jointly appealed to all eligible students to take full advantage of this opportunity and complete the necessary documentation during the special drive.
