One of the big video game shopping events of the year is about to take place on PC.

If you've taken our advice and waited to buy your next PC game, then the good news is that the Steam Summer Sale is about to begin.

Running for two weeks, the Steam Summer sale kicks off at 6pm BST UK time on the afternoon of June 26. It all comes to an end at the same time on July 10.

Needless to say, the Steam Summer Sale will also feature some special rewards for fans to unlock, such as badges and cards.

Of course, the highlight are the game discounts. The Steam Summer Sale features hundreds, if not thousands of discounts on a selection of new and classic games.

If you've got lots of titles on your Steam Wishlist, then it's likely they'll receive a discount during the Summer Sale.

Previous Summer Sales have seen first-party games like Left 4 Dead and Portal reduced to next to nothing, while huge third-party blockbusters like Elden Ring and Hogwarts Legacy have been discounted by 50 to 75%.

There's usually a Steam Deck section of the sale, which features discounts on games that are fully verified for Valve's popular handheld device.

Ahead of the start of the Summer Sale, customers can grab some early discounts on a selection of games.

This includes Death Stranding Director's Cut, which is reduced to just £13.99 ahead of the launch of this week's sequel.

Elsewhere, Horizon Forbidden West is down to £29.99, which represents a saving of 40%.

With the football season at an end and Electronic Arts recently releasing the Season Finale update, it's no surprise to see EA FC 25 reduced to just £11.99.

Then there's the Far Cry franchise sale, which includes discounts on Far Cry 6, Far Cry New Dawn, Far Cry 4, Far Cry 3 and Primal.
