In a move to attract masses and dominate the mid-size SUV segment, the leading carmaker Hyundai is all set to introduce Creta in a hybrid avatar. Yes, you read it right. According to the reports, the company is in the process of developing the model, and is likely to bring it somewhere around in 2027.

Powertrain Options

The reports suggested that the third-generation model Creta (codenamed: SX3) is being tested, and is expected to make an official debut in 2027. It has been reported that the company will offer the vehicle in multiple powertrain options that include petrol, diesel and a petrol-hybrid engine.

The reports revealed that the upcoming version will use a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine, which will be complemented by a hybrid system. Apart from this, the future Creta will also be offered in a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre direct-injection turbo-petrol, followed by a 1.5-litre diesel unit.

Hyunda Creta Electric Updates

The company will not touch Creta Electric in terms of design. However, it is expected to get slight updates in 2027 and will continue to be sold alongside the ICE version. The company is likely to offer the EV version with a larger battery pack, which will be capable of offering an improved range.
