Sakleshpur: Heavy monsoon rainfall triggered a landslide near Maranahalli in Sakleshpur taluk on the midnight of June 25, leading to traffic disruption on National Highway 75.

Vehicular movement on the Shiradi Ghat stretch of the highway came to a complete halt due to the landslide. The incident occurred when a portion of the hill, along with trees, collapsed onto the road, leaving commuters stranded in a long traffic jam on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway.

Alternate routes announced:

In light of the disruption, vehicles travelling from Bengaluru to Mangaluru have been directed to use the Hassan–Belur–Charmadi Ghat route. Similarly, vehicles heading from Mangaluru to Bengaluru should take the Charmadi Ghat–Belur–Hassan route, as per the directive issued by Hassan Deputy Commissioner Latha Kumari.
