The familiar caller tune featuring Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan's voice, which warned citizens about cyber crime, will no longer be heard. The government has reportedly decided to withdraw the caller tune as the campaign it was part of officially ended on Thursday (June 26).

According to a report in NDTV, now that the campaign has ended, the Indian government has decided to discontinue the caller tune as well.

The pre-recorded message would play whenever users made a phone call, serving as a reminder to stay cautious against cyber frauds. It was part of a government-led awareness initiative aimed at educating the public on the growing threat of online scams.

Over time, however, many people expressed their frustration with the tune on social media. Some users also complained that during emergency situations, the caller tune caused unnecessary delays in connecting calls. A few even directed their criticism toward Amitabh Bachchan, trolling him for the prolonged message.
